Welcome to the Asia Pacific NGO Committee on the Status of Women.

The Asia and Pacific NGO Committee on the Status of Women, (NGO CSW/AP) was established in 2014 as a committee under the Conference of NGOs (CoNGO).

The Asia Pacific NGO Committee on the Status of Women supports the work of the United Nations on gender equality and women’s empowerment, including that undertaken by Commission on the Status of Women and UN Women.   

By playing an active role in the UN Community, NGO CSW/AP advocates for women’s rights and the advancement of women and girls worldwide, often providing a regional perspective. 

The Asia Pacific NGO Committee on the Status of Women supports the work of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women and UN Women and with an international mandate can also support work with other UN agencies and organisations and play an active role at UN ESCAP.   

By playing an active role in the UN Community, NGO CSW/AP advocates for women’s rights and the advancement of women and girls worldwide.

In its work with the NGO Committees on the Status of Women in New York, Geneva and Vienna, NGO CSW/AP supports the Beijing Platform for Action, UN Security Resolution 1325, the Sustainable Development Goals, and the Convention to Eliminate All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW).

Membership of Asia Pacific NGO CSW is now open and we look forward to working with you, hearing your views and ideas and making this a strong advocate for women’s rights in the Asia and Pacific region.
